Deleted scene from Conspiracy…
I’ve added in a deleted scene from Conspiracy into the bonus scenes section. Please see the author’s note on that post for details about the scene and other notes of interest.

Conspiracy, book 14 of the Unseen Things series is now available!
The first book of the Unseen Things series, Origins, was published on November 23, 2013. Conspiracy, the fourteenth book of the series was published on November 22, 2014, one day before the one year anniversary of the publication of the first book. That means that I’ve published fourteen books in one year, with a combined total word count of 1,437,533 words. That’s not counting the bonus scene and the deleted scene that are posted here on the website. That’s just the word count for the books themselves. I don’t think I need to tell you all how much sleep I missed to be able to pull that off. Anyway, here’s the synopsis for Conspiracy…
Synopsis: The hybrids are aging rapidly and time is running out. In his desperation to save their lives, the colonel turns to Derek and Jarrod for help. Their plan to get the hybrids off the base however hits a snag when an administrator named Wilcox starts throwing some nasty accusations at the colonel, forcing them to take drastic steps in order to save not only lives of the hybrids, but the colonel’s life as well.
Also, when Tina, Sarah and Jarrod kidnap Heather from the house in Scotland so they can take her out on a little adventure to a random dimension, they thought they were going to end up someplace exotic or run into yet another strange species that they’d get to document and study. Unfortunately, the random dimension they chose didn’t provide them with any of that. Instead, they find themselves in some very familiar surroundings, and run into some people they’re more than intimately acquainted with.
And finally, when Commander Arthwal’s investigation into the mystery surrounding the deaths of Alarwyn’s parents leads to a revelation that could rock the very foundations of the Nathalis political system, he has to choose between following the status quo and doing what’s right in order to give Alarwyn the justice she deserves.
That’s right folks. I just finished writing book 14 of the series. It came in at 103,466 words and took me 24 days to write, though it was actually more like 20 or 21 days because I had a few days where I couldn’t write because I had to deal with other commitments.
Now the editing process begins, which usually adds a few thousand words to the word count. I fully plan on having this book edited and published on or before the 23rd of November, so keep watching for the announcement.
Yes, that’s right. I’m just one chapter away and well on my way to a great achievement, which I’ll be announcing once the book is edited and published, which will happen on or before the 23rd of November. The 23rd is a very special day, which I’ll make clear after I get Conspiracy published.
Yesterday I was able to get back to writing after having to take a few days off to deal with some other responsibilities. This was starting chapter 8, and I’d pretty much wrapped up the initial storyline in the book, so I was looking to transition into the next one. Unfortunately the direction I chose ended up not being right for the book, so I decided to not use it. Even more unfortunately, I had to delete all the writing I’d gotten done yesterday, which was about 3,600 words. 😛
Anyway, I started chapter 8 completely fresh today and things are back on track again. Still, it sucks having to delete that much work. I did save it though, so maybe at some point I’ll post it here on the website as an unedited, deleted scene, just for interest value.
Anyway, back to writing… 🙂
An announcement about my next book…
Having just published the 14th book of the Unseen Things series, I’ve reached a point where I feel like I need to take a break from it to write something else. That’s not to say I’m ending the series yet, because I’m not. Book 15 will still be coming, but before I write that, I wanted to try my hand at something else.
To that end, I will be writing a standalone book that takes place in the Unseen Things universe, only it’ll be several hundred years in the future. The characters from the series will have long since moved on to greener pastures, and as such weren’t there to defend the Earth when creatures from another dimension launched a devastating attack that killed off a large majority of the population, thereby reverting them back to an almost Mad Max style of living.
The story will focus on two main characters as they make their way through the world, killing monsters and trying to make a living. The male lead will be a total sleaze who tries to sleep with practically every girl he comes across, because in his opinion, someone’s gotta repopulate the Earth, so why not him? His female partner does her best to keep him out of trouble as they travel around trying to protect what’s left of humanity from the monsters that continue to plague man kind.
Will this story turn into a series of its own? No, probably not. At best it might turn into two or three books, but nothing more than that unless I get inspired. The Unseen Things series has been winding down for a while now, and depending on how things play out, the next book may be the last. We’ll just have to see how it goes and where the story ends up.
I don’t have a title yet for the next book, but the premise and the story are starting to come together in my head, so I may start writing it sooner rather than later, and by that I mean I may start writing it in the next week or two.
