I’ve never published two books at once before, but I wrote book 17 before I wrote book 16, so I’ve just been sitting on it until I had 16 finished. Now I’m posting them both together for your reading pleasure. Here’s all the details…
Transition (Book 16)
Synopsis: Their patience is at an end. It’s been a long time coming, but they’ve finally had enough of dealing with the stupidity and corruption of the human race, and now it’s time for them to go.
In the year 2112, the military is forced to remove the government from power due to its deep rooted corruption. Unfortunately, about half of the country supports those who were in power, which brings about riots, looting and martial law.
Feeling completely disconnected from humanity, they’re left with two options. Wipe out most of the Earth’s population so that the human race can start over and rebuild itself from the ashes, or leave. Left with no other choice, the group finally decides to make their long planned move to the Nathalis dimension.
Travelers (Book 17)
Synopsis: It was the year 2231 when they started coming through the portals. The Echnid soldiers devastated the Earth and eliminated nearly eighty percent of the population as they searched for resources they could steal and send back to their home dimension.
Jake and Lana managed to survive the initial assault and went out on the road together in a stolen (errr…salvaged) vehicle. After what became known as the Day of Death however, where all of the Echnids on the planet suddenly turned inside out, they looted whatever Echnid weapons they could find and then traveled from town to town, doing less than reputable jobs and stealing or salvaging whatever they could in order to survive.
When they happen upon a no name town in what used to be the state of Utah however, they finally find themselves in a place where they can lay down some roots. The question is, between the Echnid raiders, the roving gangs of humans known as Skinks, and one very angry pregnant girl from the next town over who’s hell bent on making Jake her husband, how deep will their roots be allowed to grow?
The books are or will be available at all the usual websites, including here on the official site.
An update on Repercussions and news about a new story idea…
Hey guys, just checking in. Today I finished chapter four of Repercussions, so I’m 25% of the way through it now. Jake and Lana from Travelers are included in this one, and there’s more focus on Martin and Dylan as well. The main crux of the story however will revolve around Billy, Sarah, Giles and Sav. I haven’t gotten to that part yet, though I’ve had one little tease leading up to it. There’s also a surprise appearance by an old enemy they vanquished over two-hundred years ago that has them all incredibly worried.
Now, about the new story idea…
There’s this absolutely wonderful girl named Amber who’s become very special to me in the time since I first met her. She’s currently reading the series, and I’ve been talking to her a lot on Facebook. Her job is kind of annoying sometimes, so to entertain her I’ll talk as the characters now and then just to put a smile on her face. However, one day I decided to do something a little bit different. I had her pick a gender and a specific age range as the basis for a character, and then I proceeded to create a story based around that character. Now, not to blow my own horn or anything, but I’m really good at doing stuff like that, and what came out of it was the foundation for an entirely new story that could potentially turn into a series that’s completely unrelated to the Unseen Things series. This new story would revolve around a girl who ends up working as an assistant to a private investigator, and that would eventually lead them into a case that had paranormal aspects to it. I don’t know where it’ll take me since I let the writing go wherever it feels like it should, but I’m really excited about turning that into something. I may do that after I finish Repercussions, just so I can have a little break from the series to recharge my batteries a bit. I’ll see what mood I’m in when I finish writing Repercussions.
Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ll post another update when I have more to report.
