After saying just this morning that I was going to take a little break before I started the next book, I went ahead and started on the next book. Why? Because I finished the cover and all the other graphics for it this morning, and then got the epub file all cleaned out and ready to go. Combine that with the fact that I don’t really have anything else to do at the moment, and that all adds up to me doing exactly what I said I wasn’t going to do. *sigh*
Anyway, the next book is titled Resurgence and it picks up about a day or so after the end of Encounters. I haven’t gotten too far into it yet because I’ve had very little sleep, but at least I got started on it. Figuring out how to start a book is the hard part, so at least I’ve got that out of the way now, and I’m sure that once I’ve had some decent sleep I’ll be getting right back to it. It’s funny what a lack of sleep does to you when you’re trying to write. I can always tell during the editing process where I was really tired, because I start finding little telltale mistakes and things often aren’t really worded as well as they could be.
Oh, and I decided this morning that I’m only going to do the KDP select thing for the 90 days unless something drastic happens with my sales. I really don’t like not being able to have the books for sale elsewhere, especially here on the website. I’ve added Encounters to the site here already and I have the Smashwords file already prepared, as I’ll do with the next one and the one after that, just so everything’s ready to go. Now mind you, I might change my mind after I have my next free weekend for Origins. I’m going to attempt to promote that one better, so I’ll make a final decision after I see how well that one goes.
What the hell is wrong with me?
