So, where have I been? I’ve been editing books for someone else, because working on my own stuff wasn’t helping to pay the bills. I just finished editing one, so last night while I was sitting here awake all night, I went back to the 2nd edition re-edit of the third book in the series and got chapter five done. I’m going to start mixing in getting this re-edit completed along with my other work. I can’t just set it aside like I’ve been doing.
Aside from that, our dog Buddy passed away. He was diagnosed with cancer, and died about three weeks later. We did everything we could for him, but it was inoperable, and it was too far progressed by the time we found out to do anything to stop it. Buddy was the absolute center of our lives, and to say that his passing was devastating would be the most colossal understatement I could possibly make. Naturally, working on anything during this time, and in the weeks following, was about the last thing on my mind.
What really helped us during this time was playing carrom. We have a carrom board set up in the living room, and we would spend hours and hours playing, just to distract ourselves. When we weren’t distracted, all we did was cry, so we were just trying to do whatever we could to be strong for Buddy in his final days.
Things are finally gaining some semblance of normalcy again. We’re getting a new border collie puppy as a brother for Rusty this coming Saturday. His name is going to be Kiyoshi, and he’s absolutely adorable.
Aside from that, nothing special to report. Just waiting on my invitation to purchase from the waiting list for the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx III. That should be coming this week I hope. Gotta clean up around here and get the fence fixed up and ready for the new puppy. Tell you what I’m NOT looking forward to is the time between getting the puppy, and the time when he’s finally house trained. I don’t mind picking up turds so much, but having to get out the steam cleaner every time he pees somewhere is going to be a massive pain. Oh well, it’s all part of the fun of having a puppy.
So that’s it for now. I’m back at it, and I’m still alive…at least for now. I’ll post again when I have another update.
